Polar Cave Ice Cream Parlour was established in Mashpee in 1995 and has been owned and operated by Mark Lawrence — together with his daughter Kelsey — ever since. Mark brings decades of hospitality experience and a great British sense of humour to make sure every guest leaves with a return visit guaranteed.

Kelsey (Endicott College '17, Van Loan Graduate School '18) has worked alongside her dad since she was 7 years old, and still helps run the website and marketing today. Together they serve generous portions of super-premium ice cream at a fair price, in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere built on old-fashioned customer service.

Polar Cave also caters graduations, weddings, birthdays, and office parties — call or email for a quote. And nothing beats a hand-rolled-to-order waffle cone with your favorite flavor, so head over to Route 28 at the Mashpee/Cotuit town line and taste what many call quite possibly the best ice cream you've ever had.

Made in Small Batches, Just for Us

Our Super Premium Ice Creams are made with 18% or 14% butterfat. Due to space limitations in our shop, it's produced exclusively for us by a small family creamery in the Boston area, following Papa Bear's recipes — some well over 100 years old. Many ask what makes our ice cream so different: our secret ingredient… LOVE, both in the making and serving!

Our old fashioned sundaes come in any flavour of ice cream you choose, topped with your pick of hot fudge, caramel, sugar-free hot fudge and caramel, fresh strawberries, crushed pineapple, peanut butter sauce, or butterscotch — plus walnuts, peanuts or cashews, whipped cream, and a cherry on top. Any ingredient can be removed, replaced, or added per your request.

Cake Orders

Our cakes are served at only the "coolest" of parties and special occasions. Choose two flavours of ice cream — one for the outside, one for the inside — and Cake Crunch or crushed sugar cones for the middle and base. Additional toppings are a slight upcharge. We ask for 24-hour advance notice; premade cakes are often available same-day.

Join the Cast of The Polar Cave Experience

Our cast members are the lifeblood of our shop — they're the face of our business, and we take great pride in the quality of the people who serve our guests. We're now casting for our next Fall/Winter production, seeking talent 17 and up for leads, actors, performers, magicians, cheerleaders, and stage crew. (Limited positions for 14–16 year olds due to child labour laws.)
